Car Recovery Newham: 24/7 Breakdown Recovery and Tow Truck

Car recovery from £120. Call 020 8088 4032 for an exact price.

Newham has some of east London's fastest and busiest roads. The A13 runs across it as a three-lane expressway, the North Circular comes to an end at Beckton, and the Silvertown Tunnel now comes up in Silvertown. If your car has let you down anywhere in the borough, Roadside Assistance Group can help 24 hours a day, and we aim to reach you within 45 minutes in London. Call 020 8088 4032.

Stopped on a fast road? Safety comes first

The A13 (Newham Way) and the North Circular (A406) are grade-separated dual carriageways, so the Highway Code's advice for high-speed roads applies:

  1. Go left. Pull over to the nearside lane and stop tight to the edge, front wheels angled towards the verge.
  2. Hazard lights on, plus sidelights at night or in fog.
  3. Leave by the nearside doors when it's safe, then stand beyond the crash barrier. Stay there, however cold or wet it gets.
  4. Trapped in a live lane? Remain in your seat, belt fastened, and dial 999 so the police can protect the scene.
  5. Don't try repairs on the carriageway and don't put a warning triangle out on these roads.

In the Silvertown Tunnel, put the hazards on, pull in to the left, turn the engine off and do what the tunnel operator tells you. Don't cross the carriageway. Once you and your car are out of the tunnel, call us.

On quieter streets in Forest Gate, Plaistow or East Ham, pull into a gap at the kerb, wait on the pavement, then phone 020 8088 4032.

The Newham roads we cover

  • A13 Newham Way. From the River Lea near Canning Town the A13 becomes a dual three-lane expressway, with junctions at Canning Town, Tollgate Road and Freemasons Road near Custom House, and Beckton Alps before it crosses into Barking.
  • A406 North Circular. Its final stretch runs south past Ilford to the Beckton Roundabout, where it meets the A13. Gallions Reach Shopping Park is also in Beckton.
  • A1020 Royal Docks Road and the A117. Together they take traffic from Beckton down to North Woolwich and the Woolwich Ferry. London City Airport and ExCeL London are both in the Royal Docks.
  • Silvertown Tunnel (A1026). Opened in April 2025, it runs under the Thames from Silvertown to the Greenwich Peninsula, next to the Blackwall Tunnel.
  • A118 Stratford High Street and Romford Road. The A118 runs from the Bow Interchange through Stratford, then east through Forest Gate and Manor Park towards Ilford.
  • A124 Barking Road. The old main road east runs through Canning Town, Plaistow and East Ham.
  • Stratford. Westfield Stratford City, Stratford station, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the London Stadium all draw heavy traffic, especially on event days.
